Easter

Easter was so fun this year. I loved having Easter on Conference Weekend. It was all a bit rushed since we went camping and didn't get home until Saturday afternoon. By the time we unloaded, showered, went grocery shopping, etc. we didn't have much time to prepare for Easter. The girls and I colored eggs while Bryan was at the Priesthood Session. This year I wanted to try something different. Plopping eggs in a cup full of colored water and then waiting for 5 minutes just seems so boring to me. I found some different ways to create colored eggs. I got several different colors of tissue paper and cut them into small pieces. Then we took some Modge Podge and painted them on the egg. It was a lot of fun and they looked great but it was time consuming. Kenzee, Kamree and Rickee all did 2 eggs and Kaylee did one egg like that and then they were tired and wanted to "dip" the eggs. I guess next year I will stick to the boring way!

Most holidays, Rickee is the last one up in the morning. Every Christmas we have to wake her up. Well, for some reason (Maybe she is just getting old enough) she was the first one up. She woke up twice during the night to see if if was time to get up yet and then was up at 6:30. I told her it was to early to get up so she climbed in bed with Bryan and I. I kept thinking she would fall back asleep but NO! Finally at 7:00 am I told her to go and wake the other girls up. She was so excited! Luckily, the Easter Bunny came to our house and left lots of eggs, Easter Baskets and a new pillow for each girl.

Then we relaxed and watched Conference in our jamies. After the afternoon session we went to my parents house for another Easter egg hunt and dinner. My kids love getting together with family and playing with their cousins.

I love Easter! It reminds me that I will get to be with the people I love that have passed on. I love that everything comes alive again and is new and fresh and beautiful. I love the transformation that the world takes on in the springtime. I love the fact that the Savior loved me enough to suffer and die for me. I love Heavenly Father's plan that we could be resurrected and live with him again with my family! I love Easter!!

That's a neat idea to modge podge eggs. And you probably won't get dye all over the place when you do that. Maybe we'll try that next time. :)
