While we were in St. George, we had the amazing opportunity to visit the Johnson Farm Dinosaur Museum. A farmer several years ago was excavating his land to build houses on it. He happened to turn over a large chunk of rock and saw some large foot prints embedded in the rock. He immediately stopped digging and called for someone to take a better look. Well, long story short, they have found thousands of footprints, claw marks, ripple marks, etc in and around his property. They have built a building over the sight and it is now a working museum. They have many, many artifacts you can look at.
McKaylee is learning about fossils at school and her teacher told the class about the Johnson Farm. She wanted to go to it while we were there. It is amazing! We told the workers there they she had been learning about fossils so one of the men took us on a private tour!!

This is the rock that Dr. Johnson found. You can see the large foot prints on it.

This is the girls uncovering an "egg nest". They thought it was fun to use the brushes to try to uncover it. While we were there visiting, a real
paleontologist (sp) was there working on uncovering more foot prints. It was fun to see her work!
Behind the girls they have uncovered over 1000 foot prints. There is also a spot(by the orange bucket) where a dinosaur walked, stopped, sat down and then put his "hands" down. They can see his
footprints, leg prints, bum print and hand prints. This is the ONLY place in the world where they have
dino hands imprinted in stone.

This is a replica of a real T-
rex foot print. (not found her in Utah). Look at how big it is. Normally, it is behind a rope and you are about 6 feet away from it, but the tour guide let the girls go in and stand by it. The
ceiling was about 16 feet high and he said this t-
rex was taller than the ceiling. Incredible!

This is also a rock that Dr. Johnson found. It is one of the only fossils in the
museum they will let you touch. It was very cool to touch a place that a
dino had walked! We loved this and I would like to go back again. It was very interesting. (Kids 7 and under got
borded quickly!) The rest of us had a ball! If you want a fun and educational experience while in St. George, you may want to check it out!

Looks like lots of fun! We love to visit St. George. We'll have to check it out sometime!
Wow, that's really cool. It's amazing to think that those animals lived here on this earth, just like we do, but a long time ago. They had their purpose. You guys are pretty lucky to see all that!
