May the Force be with You, Padawan

We have never done the Jedi Training before when we have been in Disneyland because we have four girls who have never seen any of the Star Wars movies. For some odd reason this year they wanted to do it. Rickee got picked right off the bat and I wasn't sure she would even do it, but, she did great. McKaylee and McKamree were not picked the first round so we had to come back to the next training session. Luckily, the trainer felt the force within them and he choose them to be trained.McKaylee did a great job defeating Darth Vader. She listened well and learned all she needed to from the Jedi Trainer. She was ready to defeat the "Dark Side".
This is Kaylee learning how to use the light saber in the correct way.

McKamree also took the training very seriously. She concentrated very hard and listened to the force within herself. However, when Darth Vader and Darth Mal came out, the force left and she was scared stiff. She began to cry and the Jedi Trainers tried to calm her fears but she would have nothing to do with trying to defeat the dark side. She was safely escorted off the training floor, as far away from Darth Mal as she could get and taken to the safe arms of her grandpa. Good job Kam for trying to conquer your fear. Maybe next year (or maybe not)!

Rickee also took her training very seriously. She watched and tried to do exactly what the Jedi Trainer was doing. She was a little freaked out when Darth Vader and Darth Mal came but she reached deep down within herself and found "the force" and fought Darth Vader!!! She really gave him a run for his money.

The Jedi Trainer was so cute with her, I loved it! Her light saber would not open when she reached Darth and so she had to use the Jedi Trainer's.
At the end of the training when Darth Vader and Darth Mal could see that none of the padawans will follow the dark side they leave. The Jedi Trainer then gives a very profound speech about following the "force". He tells them if they will follow the force and do good they will never be tempted to follow the dark side. As I listened to him teach my girls about good and evil I got a little bit chocked up. It sounded like a talk from Sacrament Meeting. If we will follow Jesus Christ and listen to the Holy Ghost and do what Christ would do, we will never follow Satan and we will not have to worry about his evil influences taking over our lives. It is so interesting to me that we can feel the spirit where ever we are.
All three of them graduated with Honors! I hope getting them through college is just as easy!
