Lava Hot Springs

Lava Hot Springs is one of our favorite places to go! I have been going there with my family since I was about 12 years old. It is a small old town with not much to do but shop in the stores, swim in the big pool and go to the famous hot tubs. Our family went last weekend and had a great time!
This is a picture of us at the "Sunken Gardens". It is a fun walk through garden that has been there for apparently years, but we did not discover it until this year. It was beautiful!!
The kids live to swim in the big pool. They us the hot springs to fill some of it and so it is nice and warm. This is McKaylee jumping off the diving board at the inside pool. She must have jumped off it 100 times right in a row. She would jump, swim to the side, get out and jump again, over and over and over! What a great little swimmer she is!

Here is McKamree floating on her back. She is also a fish and just swam and swam and swam. We bought her some arm floaties but she would have nothing to do with them.

Rickee and Kenzee also had a great time. When the cousins came for a few hours, Kenzee was off with them. Rickee liked to stay in the shallow where she could touch, even though she had her arm floaties on the whole time. There were two little slides that she liked to go down.

This is the famous river that runs through town. This was at our camp site. It is such a beautiful place. We are hoping to go back again in August with my family! What great memories we have of Lava!

It is between Malad, ID and Pocatello, ID. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there from here. People come from all over the world to sit in the hot tubs. Many people think they have amazing healing powers. We just think they are fun.

Dustin has some funny memories from Lava Hot Springs, but I've never been there. Maybe we'll tag along with your fam sometime. Looks like fun.

That looks like a perfect mix of fun for a vacation. We might have to try that sometime!

How fun! I didn't know McKamree was such a little fish and very brave. I don't think I was jumping off the diving board so much at her age. Good for her!

It looks like you had a great time! I'm surprised you didn't raft down the Portneuf River! J/K!
