Pioneer Day

Yesterday to celebrate Pioneer Day we went to This Is The Place Park. I had not been there in over 10 years. It is such a fun place to visit. We were there for about 4 hours and did not see everything. They had crafts for the kids to do, train rides, a petting zoo, pony rides and of course all of the houses and business to visit. The only drawback: it was very, very HOT! I'm glad I was not a pioneer! Grandpa at the Indian village
Kenzee wins the stick pull game.
Kaylee and Kamree stick pulling.
Petting the baby lambs.
Kenzee was in heaven petting the goats. (She wants a pet goat SO bad.)
Kaylee and Dale
Kamree and Honey
Rickee and Cheyenne
The girls got to start school a few days early.
Rickee writing her alphabet.
McKamree was the Dunce! The teacher explained that "dunce" does not mean dumb like most of us think but instead it means that she did not make a right choice and this is the consequence. (She did not do her homework)
McKamree embracing her Native American heritage!
We had an awesome time! I would love to go back and spend more time. Maybe in October when it is not so hot!
I am very thankful for my Pioneer heritage and for what the Pioneer endured to bring the gospel here. I am thankful that I am not a pioneer!!!!

I beg to differ, Shauna, you are a pioneer! You are blazing trails everyday for your children and others to follow. You always have been a great example to me, I think you are one of those rare people who has the integrity to be a pioneer now! Thank you!

Amen Sister! I can't imagine going on Pioneer Trek, let alone being a pioneer!!! Of course, I'm sure the pioneers are looking dowm on us, thankful not to live on the earth at this time. It just goes to show that everyone has struggles and trials, as far back as Adam and Eve. I don't know though, my hat goes off to the pioneers and their struggles. I think I feel blessed to be where I am at this time. I'll stop rambling now, I don't know where all that came from...;)

It looks like you had a great time! I was thinking I wanted to take my kids there, but maybe we'll wait until October.
